Beitbridge – The Beitbridge Eagles men’s volleyball team is gearing up to compete in the Southern leg of the Zimbabwe Premier Volleyball League (ZPVL), scheduled to take place at Hillside on the 24th of May in Bulawayo. This stage of the competition will bring together top teams from across the southern region, with representatives from Matabeleland South, Matabeleland North, Masvingo, Midlands, and Bulawayo volleyball associations.
According to the fixtures, the Beitbridge Eagles, representing the Matabeleland South Volleyball Association (MSVA), will open their campaign against Chimoio of the Bulawayo Volleyball Association (BVA). In the women’s division, action will commence with a clash between BVA’s Lycans and Southern Aces from Masvingo. Notably, MSVA will not be represented in the women’s category this season.

In their second and final match of the tournament, the Eagles will take on Crocs from Matabeleland North, a team based in Victoria Falls. The Beitbridge side is aiming to avenge previous losses to both Chimoio and Crocs, who outplayed them during the MSVA Opening Tournament held in Gwanda earlier this year.
Supporters remain hopeful that the Eagles will rise to the occasion and pull off an upset against the highly rated Crocs and Chimoio teams. Many believe that lessons learned from their February defeats will fuel a stronger performance in Bulawayo.
