Beitbridge Eagles and JMN Poly Twisters emerged as dominant forces in the recently concluded Independence tournament, each claiming victory in their respective men’s and women’s categories. Initially drawing interest from 7 men’s and 6 women’s teams, the tournament ultimately saw participation from 5 men’s and 4 women’s teams.
In the men’s division, Beitbridge Eagles showcased their prowess by securing victories over Lycans, newcomers How Mine, GHS Spartans, and GSU Cavaliers, all with identical 2-0 scorelines, thus clinching the top spot in the group without suffering any defeats.

On the women’s side, JMN Poly Twisters faced stiff competition, notably succumbing to Opening tournament champions, Lycans, in a close encounter with a scoreline of 2-1. However, Lycans later fell to Gwanda Giants with a 2-0 defeat. Consequently, JMN Poly Twisters emerged as group winners with 6 points, while Lycans secured the runner-up position with 4 points.
