By Staff Reporter

Beitbridge played host to a dynamic volleyball coaching workshop from May 26 to 28, organised by the Matabeleland South Volleyball Association (MSVA) in collaboration with the National Association of Primary School Heads (NAPH). The workshop, held at St Joseph’s Primary school, was facilitated by veteran coach Innocent Moyo, a seasoned trainer originally from Matabeleland South but currently practicing in Bulawayo.

Over 20 aspiring and practicing coaches took part in the three-day intensive program, which focused on strengthening grassroots volleyball coaching, particularly at the primary school level. Participants are set to be awarded National Certificates in Volleyball Coaching by the Zimbabwe Volleyball Association (ZVA).

Coach Moyo delivered comprehensive sessions covering coaching techniques, game strategies, and player development. His hands-on approach and depth of experience left a lasting impression on the attendees.

Many participants expressed excitement about the knowledge they gained and showed eagerness to implement the new skills in their schools and communities. “This workshop has been an eye-opener. I feel more confident to coach and develop young talent,” said one participant.

The initiative marks a positive step toward strengthening volleyball at grassroots level in Matabeleland South and beyond.
